The book describes life in
the Civil Conservation Corps [CCC] during the 1930's.
There were over 50 CCC camps across Nebraska, several of
which served as POW camps during WWII.
In the 270 pages, there are more than 100 photographs from
the Camps depicting camp life.
The author used oral histories from over 45 former CCC
enrollees and their families. She traveled to Colorado,
Kansas, Missouri & Illinois, as well as throughout
Nebraska to be able to talk with the men personally.
Genealogists will find the index containing over 1,100
names to be of interest.
