CONTRIBUTIONS TO SMITH FUND

These offerings have been made to date for the relief of the S.P. SMITH family 
at Roca. Rev. Mr. Smith and his daughter, Ruby were killed in a crossing accident 
a few days ago, leaving Mrs. SMITH and three children in straitened circumstances.

Previously reported....$124.00 + cash....2.00 + W.B. SHURTLEFF....5.00
Total to date.....$141.00

The following letter was received from B.B. ABEL, cashier of the Malcom State Bank:
State Journal:
I was exceedingly glad to read about the Benefit Fund for the 
Rev. Mrs. S.P. SMITH of Roca, Nebr. I am herewith enclosing a check 
for that purpose. This certainly is a clear clean cut opportunity for 
Christian people and especially the Methodist church to act.
I shall bring this matter before our Sunday school and church tomorrow.
If you can, please give the matter more publicity.
